Description
Irene Lin's cute, cropped Eira Cardigan is knitted by starting at the back from the top down to the base of the armholes. Then, both fronts are picked up and knitted separately to the armhole, and then the front and back are joined and knitted in flat down to the hem. Pick up and knit for the sleeves, then pick up and knit for the front bands and the neckband.

Yarn: The main body is worked with a single strand of fingering weight mohair yarn (MC) using larger needles to create a light and airy fabric. For the ribbed edges, two strands of fingering weight yarn (CC) are held together to give a more structured and firm finish. Yardage is calculated based on the long-sleeve version.

Needles: US 4 (3.5 mm) circular needle, 40” (100 cm) long or size needed to get gauge.

19 sts and 24 rows = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4” in stockinette stitch after blocking; Two strands of fingering weight yarn held together with 4 mm (US 6) needle :
24 sts and 30 rows = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4” in twisted rib after blocking
