Learn How to Make an Afterthought Heel: Saturday, April 12 1:00-3:00pm
DESCRIPTION
The afterthought heel is an alternative heel method that can be used when knitting with self striping yarn, or any yarn with a pattern that you might not want to disrupt. It’s also a great way to knit socks without having to create an entire heel flap and gusset, speeding up your sock knitting process.
HOMEWORK: For this class you will need to come to class with your sock partially completed using either double point needles or the magic loop method. After downloading the pattern, and starting on page 3 at the beginning of the pattern, work your sock through most of page 4, stopping at the section marked picking up Heel Stitches. You will have knit the cuff, placed waste yarn for the heel, and knit a few inches of the foot. If you need help with placing the waste yarn, please stop by the shop and we can help.
Please read over this pattern carefully before class.
Skill Level: Intermediate - must have sock knitting experience
Materials Required*:
- Smooth Operator Socks ($5 on Ravelry)
- Yarn for your heel ( you can use a mini, leftover sock yarn, or the other end of the yarn you have been working with.
- An extra set of same-size needles to pick up stitches and knit the heel

CLASS REGISTRATION & CANCELLATION POLICY
· When signing up for a class, please add your name and email to the "Notes" section on the checkout page so that we may contact you with any additional information about the class.
· If you would prefer to register over the phone instead of online, call Knit Dallas at 214.758.0349 with credit card information to secure your spot. Full payment is needed to reserve your spot.
· If you need to cancel, you will receive a full refund if you cancel 5 days prior to the start of the first class. Otherwise, cancellations and no-shows are not refundable.
· If you must miss one class, contact your instructor for individual makeup arrangements. If you will be missing multiple classes, please sign up when you are able to make all of the classes. A maximum of one class may be made up for multi-session classes.
· Classes may be canceled in the event of insufficient sign-ups (less than three students). If we cancel a class, you will be notified three days before the start of the first class by phone & will be given a full refund.
