Description

Number 2 is a beautiful Sport weight - two ends of Number 1 are gently twisted together with a slightly looser twist than most to trap plenty of air in this lofty worsted spun marvel.

Number 2 is a 2-ply worsted spun sport weight yarn that manages to be smooth and bouncy without ever feeling too refined. The plied structure gives it balance and strength, while still trapping plenty of air for warmth and softness. It behaves beautifully on the needles, with just the right elasticity for colourwork, lace, and anything that needs definition.

The fibre itself is breed-specific, though not always single-breed. Garthenor sorts and blends according to what the fleece tells them - a certain hand, a particular length, a shade that wants to shine. Shetland is a regular star here (they're a bit biased, with a flock at home), but you'll find plenty of character across the range.

Dyed onto a blend of certified organic Shetland and Cheviot. Shades dyed on grey contain 10% Black Welsh Mountain wool.
